Eggocentrics

My Eggocentrics Collection started out as an attempt to use my recycled colored clay, hence the grey and slightly marbled aspect of the raw clay on older pieces. For some reason I was drawn to creating enclosed egg shaped vessel and decorating them, letting my imagination run wild using real animals, plants, myths, games or geographical features as a base for my creations which had an otherwordly quality to them. I called them “Alien Eggs”.

Recently my collection has taken a new turn. I have been playing with nesting my sculptures, balancing them on tripods and stacking them as well as decorating them with various carving and surface techniques. They all start on the wheel as enclosed spherical or egg-shaped vessels that are then altered in various ways and I renamed this collection “Eggocentrics” to leave room for future experimentations.
